Setting of the E-Portfolio Context

The purpose of, and primary audience for the E-Portfolio

The purpose of this Portfolio is to demonstrate in a consolidated form the knowledge and skills that I have learnt over the four years of my Bachelor of Education degree (B.Ed.). This portfolio will show my lesson planning and reflection on my lessons, the content I use in my lessons as well as the resources and artifacts that I use to make my lessons as interesting and meaningful as possible. This Portfolio will show how I plan to inspire learners to have the same love for history that I do. The audience for this portfolio will be for my lecturer, moderators, and anyone who wants to see how I will teach in my classroom.

Context of WIL 1

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) 1 took place between 16 January 2017 and 27 January 2017. My school Experience was at Rand Park High School, which is a former model-c school based in the Middle Class suburb of Rand Park Ridge. Rand Park high School is a very large school with close to 100 teachers and 1000 learners. There are 5 grades (8-12) and 10 classes in each grade with between 25 to 30 learners in a class. Many of the learners are from middle-class families living or working nearby the school.

Context of WIL 2

WIL 2 took place between 24 April and 15 May 2017. My school experience was at Hyde Park High School. Hyde Park High School is also a former model-c school based in the Middle Class suburb of Hyde Park. Hyde Park is neither a big school nor a small school, it consists of 5 grades (8-12), with 7 classes and between  between 25 to 30 learners in a class. Many learners do not come from middle-class families but rather the employees of middle-class families in the area.
